Short Bio:
Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Howard University, Washington, DC, USA. He joined Howard in January 2021 as an Assistant Professor. Before joining Howard, he was an Assistant Professor at Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia, USA. Dr. Ahmed worked as a Wireless Systems Engineer at Intel Corporation in San Diego, California, USA before moving to academia.
Dr. Ahmed works in the areas of wireless communications, signal processing, and computer networks. His current research focuses on the design and analysis of current and next-generation cellular communication systems.
Dr. Ahmed obtained his PhD from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada and received postdoctoral training at McGill University and INRS at Montreal, QC, Canada.
